Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your PAUS data at any time, directly in the app. This page explains exactly what that does, and gives you a way to request deletion even if you no longer have the app installed.

How to delete your data in the app

  1. Open PAUS and go to Settings.
  2. Under Data & Privacy, tap Delete My Data.
  3. Confirm by tapping Yes, delete everything.

What this deletes, immediately, with no retention period

This is a hard delete, not a deactivation or a soft delete. The records below are removed from our servers right away, not hidden, flagged, or scheduled for later removal:

  • Your onboarding responses and profile
  • Your Emergency Script and Anchor Phrase
  • Journal-style entries, including Letters and Night Debrief entries
  • Symptom logs from Body Mode
  • Vault entries
  • Your usage and session history, including streaks and Crisis Mode usage
  • Your cached Anxiety Profile and Pattern Report data

In the same step, your local app data on that device is cleared and any scheduled notifications are cancelled. You're signed out and returned to the start of the app.

Two things this does not currently do

In the interest of giving you an accurate picture, not just a reassuring one, two things fall outside this action today:

  • Gratitude Interrupt photos you've saved are stored as files on your device, not in our database. Delete My Data does not remove these files from your device. Uninstalling the app removes them, along with all other local app data.
  • Your account identifier is signed out, not separately erased. A new, unlinked anonymous session is created automatically so you can keep using PAUS if you choose. It is not connected to any of the content listed above once that content is deleted.

If you've already uninstalled the app

Email jfri.studio@gmail.com and ask us to delete your data manually. Since PAUS accounts are anonymous by default, please include whatever of the following you have available so we can locate and remove the right records:

  • The approximate date you started using PAUS
  • The email address you used, if you linked Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google
  • Whether you used PAUS on iOS or Android

We'll confirm by email once your deletion request has been processed.
